TRON Forum (Chair: Ken Sakamura, Dean of Information Networking for Innovation and Design (INIAD), Toyo University, Emeritus Professor, the University of Tokyo) has created “Individual member” category in FY2017. Please join the forum on this occasion.
TRON Forum has created “Individual member” category in FY2017. This further enhances the cooperation between the forum and IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers, Inc.), the world’s largest institute of electrical and electronic engineers in the U.S.A. which concluded a sister association agreement with the forum last year, and accelerates their joint activities to promote the IoT standardization for the future.
Previously, only corporations could join TRON Forum. That was because the forum standardized the technologies for embedded systems, ubiquitous computing, open data, etc. as a standardization group by making available to the public the technologies developed by its member companies participating in the working groups (WGs). TRON Forum has concluded a sister association agreement with IEEE Consumer Electronics Society in the U.S.A. IEEE CES classifies its member categories based on personal job performance, expertise, work experience, etc., and requests the counterparty of the agreement to offer an individual member category. The forum has a system in which an individual can participate in the WG(s) as an “expert” by the recommendation of the members of each WG. By creating an individual member category, the forum can call for people in a wide range of areas to join the forum to contribute to its activities.
