Introduction

Since we started the project, we have been developing parts one after another aiming at the realization of "Anywhere computer", and among those parts, ITRON has become the most-used embedded OS in the world. ITRON is now used as a standard embedded system for mobile phones, car engine controls, digital videos, fax machines, etc. all over the world.

Also, Java has become an important language now that the Internet is tremendously popular, but Java lacks "real -timeness". JTRON was developed with the concept of covering this disadvantage of Java with ITRON, which has been used practically for mobile phones and the likes.
Moreover, BTRON "Chokanji"- Since its launch as OS with capabilities of handling more than 100,000 characters, it has been causing a sensation.

In addition, CTRON is the telephone exchange OS standards in Japan and the TRON specification chips are the original models of most of Japanese power-saving original microprocessors.
Now, the TRON architectures have gained the worlds' No.1 position as embedded architectures.

And, the time of PC's has gone and the time of ubiquitous computers ("Anywhere computer") that TRON has been advocating for long is going to come.

To advance this project, TRON Project Symposium is held every year in order to disseminate the TRON Project activities to many people. This year, the 20th TRON Project Symposium will be held from 11th to 13th December at Tokyo International Forum in Yurakucho, Tokyo.

In this year's symposium, with "T-Engine and ubiquitous ID" as the main theme, various types of TRONs which are perfect for building ubiquitous computing environments will be introduced. In addition, the annual Enableware Symposium "TEPS2004" will also be held, in which we will consider more effective ways of supporting the disabled with computers.

It would be highly appreciated if you could agree with the idea of this symposium, sponsor and participate in it.

Basic Concept

T-Engine Project

An open and real-time system standard development environment is provided aiming at building a ubiquitous computing environment where everything has embedded OS and is networked.

All the information on T-Engine - the best environment for developing mobile information devices and network-connected home appliances, etc effectively and speedily - will be introduced.

-Hardware
-Kernel / development environment
-Middleware
-Java
-HMI

Ubiquitous ID

"Anywhere computer" is finally becoming a reality.
The aim is to establish basic technology to automatically recognize a "thing" in order to realize the ubiquitous computing.
