TRON Association Business Plan for FY 2001

The TRON Association's business plan for fiscal year 2001 was approved in an ordinary general meeting held on May 31. The TRON Association will execute various TRON Project-related undertakings in keeping with the following business plan.

  1. In order to give impetus to vitalization of the TRON Project and speedily deal with changing circumstances in the world, the Association has conducted a review of the structure for promoting the project, reorganized it into three groups, and will promote the project centering on the activities of each group.

  2. The TRON Association will make plans to actively develop various seminars centering on educational seminars related to TRON specifications.

  3. The TRON Association will strengthen activities to spread the TRON Architecture overseas, such as activities based in North America and Korea.

  4. The TRON Association will actively make proposals and participate in the IT-related software development undertakings being carried out by national and related organizations.

On Recruiting Members for Each Group/Working Group

After conducting a review of the structure for promoting the TRON Project, the TRON Association will promote the project from the current fiscal year through the following new structure. Since participating members have nearly been assembled, the Association will commence the activities of each group and/or working group from this July. Furthermore, because the Association continues to recruit members, the TRON Association asks its members to by all means apply.

RX850, RX850Pro, and RX4000 RTOSs for V850, VR Series Processors

NEC Corporation is offering real-time operating system (RTOS) products based on the ¦ÌITRON3.0 Specification for its 32-bit V850 family of microcomputers and its 64-bit VR series of microprocessors.

As for RTOS products for the V850 family, there are the RX850 and RX850Pro RTOSs. RX850 is a product that has a reduced number of functions and a more compact memory size than RX850Pro. In addition, as a RTOS product for the VR series, there is RX4000. NEC is providing system construction tools and a debugging environment for all of these products.
