BTRON Exhibited at CES |
| Sennet Inc. exhibited a BTRON-specification
OS it developed at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES), which was held
in Las Vegas from January 6 to 9. In addition to ordinary computer users,
the exhibit was visited by many company officials, who took notice of

ITRON Introduced at the OSEK/VDX 3rd International Workshop |
| Prof. Hiroaki Takada, head of the ITRON Technical Committee,
introduced the ITRON subproject in a lecture at the OSEK/VDX 3rd International
Workshop, which was held in the suburbs of Frankfurt, Germany, on February
2 and 3. OSEK/VDX is a project to create a standardized OS and communications
protocols for automotive control systems. In addition, Prof. Takada proposed

¦ÌITRON-Compatible Software |
| A.I. Corporation, a Tokyo-based marketer of embedded software
products, has begun providing middleware and a development environment
for the ¦ÌITRON-specification real-time operating system. The OS/middleware
includes Java VM for embedded use, the Bluetooth protocol stack, a PC-compatible
filing system, the Flash filing system, and CompactFlash/MMC drivers.
The development environment includes a compiler/debugger, a real-time
monitoring tool, tools to aid raising software quality, and SDL-compatible
