Ricoh Company, Ltd., a B-member of TRON Forum, will hold “RICOH THETA x IoT Developers Contest” with the co-sponsorship of YRP Ubiquitous Networking Laboratory, and special cooperation of Institute of Infrastructure Application of Ubiquitous Computing, Interfaculty Initiative in Information Studies, Graduate School, the University of Tokyo. This contest calls for gadgets and applications that make full use of “RICOH THETA,” RICOH’s 360-degree camera. This year’s contest challenges developers to create innovative apps and gadgets that make full use of RICOH THETA in a cloud-based environment by using cloud API. The total prize amount is five million JP YEN, and the first-prize winner will receive one million JP YEN. The entry period is from Friday, April 1 to Wednesday, August 10, 2016 and the deadline for work submission is Wednesday, August 31, 2016. Cloud API beta version and 3D model data of RICOH THETA series are provided to contestants.
